Tradeswomen at Work

3masons2

I’ve seen a few female masons working in San Francisco. It turns out there are quite a few female masons working for the City of San Francisco. I accompanied Vicky Hamlin to photograph a whole crew of women for the 2015 Tradeswomen calendar.

On one crew on Potrero Hill all three masons were women.

On another day I found this mason working alone on a job in the Excelsior.

  1. NICE PICS!!! I’m going to start taking construction pics around Charlotte and see if there’s any women working here! Just got home from the conference in LA today – May 14. Stayed with a friend in Santa Monica for an extra week!

  2. Wow! That’s so rare to see a crew of women from the same trade together. I was once on a job with 6 women electricians. A job down the street had 5. Every so often the 11 of us would meet for lunch at the Pizzaria Uno’s halfway between. Great that you and Vicky are documenting!
